Alannah Myles’s tribute to Elvis

Known for her sexy 1990 Billboard #1 smash hit Black Velvet, international Grammy award winning recording artist Alannah Myles fanned flames in the embers of women's hearts with her country soul metaphor on Elvis. Myles easily recaptures the fire of her original song in her now re-recorded and updated version of the masterpiece hit about the man who moved nearly every woman in his path to her knees. Who could forget those famous lyrics? "Black velvet and that little boy smile/Black velvet with that slow southern style/A new religion that'll bring you to your knees/Black velvet... if you please..." Winning a Grammy award for best female rock performance for the Black Velvet track off her 1989 self-titled album, the work bore four Top 40 hits for this rock queen. Myles' re-recorded Black Velvet 2007 along with two other songs from the album - Only Wings, and Faces in the Crowd - are being released August 14, 2007 as a digital EP exclusively on iTunes in a tribute to Elvis on the 30th anniversary of his passing August 16, 1977.
