The only known recorded singing of Elvis’s father, Vernon Presley is set to be released. The song, “Don’t Close Your Door,” was written and recorded by Vernon in his office at Graceland in 1973/1974. Its lyrics point to the circumstances involving the marital troubles that Vernon was having with his second wife, Dee.

The tape surfaced at the recent Jim E. Curtin auction. The new owner re-mastered it for the best possible sound quality and transferred the song to compact disc. The new King Productions label limits the first CD-R to 100 copies.
